Our farmers are really feeling the shift in seasons as they crop out the last of the eggplant and capsicums. and trim back a few perennial plants that do best in warm weather. They are keeping a close eye on the cabbages. The success of the summer season crops had a great deal to do with early experimentation with new seed varieties. It looks like that same strategy will pay off in autumn. The new cabbages are radiating potential. The first of the rainbow chard, curly and Tuscan kale have also just been picked and we are waiting excitedly on the purple sprouting broccoli!
Citrus season is just around the corner for us too! Now our farmers are just hoping for some sunny weather to get more seedlings in the ground.
